gerund:

infinitive:
e.g. The bridge, to be constructed in 3 years, will cut down on traffic.
The bridge, which will be constructed in 3 years, will cut down on traffic.
past participle:
e.g. Blood tranfusions, first used in World War I, are now common medical practice.
Blood tranfusions, which were first used in World War I, are now common medical practice.
hi, your blog is really interesting and educative. Could you explain to me the difference between using "infinitive" and "to infinitive" to abridge a non-defining clause? For example, can I change the sentence "The bridge, which will be constructed in 3 years, will cut down on traffic" to "The bridge, constructed in 3 years, will cut down on traffic?" It is right?
